LAMBUG BADIAN

Sunny day. Ocean breeze. Palm trees. Sun-kissed skin. Salt water in your hair. Ocean waves. Water kissing the shoreline. Sand on your feet. Cold beer by the beach. Sunsets. When was the last time you went to the beach?

It was pretty unusual for us to travel at night down south Badian. We didn't care. For some reason, we had no other time nonetheless.

On Saturday afternoon, I went grocery shopping and packed food for our mini trip while Jandel was still at work (no rest for the wicked). We met at about 5 p.m., went to South Bus Terminal, and took Bato via Barili route to Badian. It was already getting dark plus caught in a rush hour, it was trafficky along the way. That somehow delayed our time of arrival. It was roughly a 3- to 4-hour drive from the city. Butthurt and with my legs going numb, I kept changing positions every so often. Beside me, Jandel was trying to catch some zzzs.

At South Bus Terminal take Bato via Barili route.

Regular Ceres Liner Bus Fare: 120.00 per head
Drop-off: Badian Covered Court, 7 Eleven just across

From there, take a motorcycle ride to Lambug Beach.

Habal-Habal (Motorcycle) Fare: 30.00 - 50.00 per head

The resort's contact texted us if we were already on our way. That's just very kind. Safety wise, she even told us she could get us a "habal-habal" to pick us up when we reach Badian Market. Awesome!

Arrived at 10 pm, settled in our room, ate dinner, and hung around the shoreline drinking beer.

Feel-good vibe.

We woke up early at 5:30 and had to grab coffee first thing in the morning to awaken our souls. First sip of coffee, staring at the calm sea, taking in the wild ocean air. BEST FUCKING RELAXING FEELING EVER.

As cool as a cucumber.

Sprawled figures basking in the morning sun.

I envy this dog - the beach all to himself.

You. Me. Summer.

Not to worry. Drinks are easy to come by. There are plenty of convenience stores nearby.

Can't stop taking photos of the beach. :) It's high noon. It's a sunlight-stabbing-eye time of day.

Here's where we bought our beer. Red Horse costs 90 php.

They also serve some Jap food here.

If you feel like Ariana Grande-ish. You can also rent a karaoke machine.

Beach life.

We didn't go to Kawasan Falls (pouting), well another reason to come back, right? We checked out after lunch. We purely enjoyed our time just relaxing and being together.

In day time, when you take a motorcycle ride to Lambug, you will pass by Cebu International Golf & Dive Resort sign. I suggest you book in advance especially during peak season. The resorts I've contacted were fully booked. We thought about bringing a tent, but getting a room would be great, so we could leave our stuff without worrying a bit. Lucky enough, we were able to find cheap accommodation for 800 only (not really that fancy though, anyway just good for an overnight stay) at Manang Virgie Villa Resort. Good service and staffs are friendly. Contact no. 0926 174 5671.

Badian Covered Court.

Across the covered court, the going-home lane back to the city, you'll spot 7 Eleven and a waiting shed for passengers. We stopped by yet for another cold coffee fix at 7 Eleven before getting on the bus. :)

It goes without saying, the beach is the perfect place where you can truly relax. Lambug beach is a public white sand beach good for big group of friends, team building, family-size vacation, and also for couples. You can bring tents and just pay for the resort's charge so you can use their facilities. Travelling need not to be expensive. Go for budget travel, it's the place, who you're with, and experience that matter. We only spent 2,500 for this trip. Yup, you read it right.

How 'bout you people? Any beach plans this summer?
